Josef Ajram

Josef Ajram
My name is Josef Ajram Tares. I was born in Barcelona on April 5th, 1978. My dad is Syrian and my mom, Spanish. I owe my introduction to cycling to my paternal grandfather.

I only like a few things, but with intensity: the stock market, sports and travel.

I live in an apartment in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, a place where there is always something going on. And as you never know what will happen, my cell phone is always on.

Lucky

You could say I'm a lucky guy, but this is not necessarily associated with luck. I believe in the discipline and the calculation rather than chance.

The key

To know, since I was a little boy, what I wanted to do and what I didn’t is the secret of my fortune. I didn’t like studying so I stopped as soon as I could. I loved the numbers and I found the stock market, a place where they dance with their own rhythm. I have been working there for almost a decade. I practice sports, my other passion, since I was a child.

Between Two Worlds

In the stock market, I am day trader, just vertigo and adrenaline. In sports, I'm in for the most demanding races. I live between these two opposite worlds where I enjoy extreme sensations that demand perseverance, dynamism and calculation to measure the possibilities and capabilities.

Discipline

I'm obsessive. When I love something, I'm the best. I try to keep strictly to this formula: eight hours to sleep, eight others to work and the remaining eight for me.

Life Trader

Where is the limit? I play that game every day, with ambitions and goals. We must exhaust all resources to make our dreams come true. Conformity is a trap that we must avoid.

My philosophy is not to win, but feel good about my performance. I enjoy the training more than the competitions. I love challenges. I am too lazy to fight against the clock.

I admire Julián Sanz (ultra-distance cycling), Jornet Kilian (mountain running), Marcel Zamora (three-time winner of the Ironman of Nice), and Serge Girard, because he has traveled around the world making money from Paris to Tokyo.
